Dean
Hi there!
I just wanted to shoot you a quick email about Dean, whom we adopted in July. He has grown so fast! Dr. Stone, our veterinarian, thinks he might actually be a month older than we thought, but we won't know until his last teeth come in (which I noticed is about now). He weighs between 5 and 7 pounds, and is still a lovebug. He can be a bad boy, too -- lots of "love bites" but we've been stern with him and he's been very responsive. I guess we just had to learn it was his way of saying "leave me alone" when he didn't want to be petted, but we also want to avoid him doing that to any future houseguests!
We relented and now allow him on the bed with us, but only when we're home. Now that he's learned what the boundaries are in the bedroom, we do leave the door open when not home. He sleeps curled up or stretched out right in between the pillows. I must say he sleeps in very interesting positions; it makes me wonder if that is something he did in the womb, curling about the way he does.
Ultimately, we are so happy with the cat we adopted from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. I wish I could be more involved. I would love to volunteer! I would most of all like to foster.
Attached are some pictures of Dean taken about a month ago when he was still a bit of a terror. I call it his "terrible twos" phase. (Specifically, he was trying to climb our drying rack to lay in the netting and try to bite the knobs.)
Thanks again! Lilly
