Interested in getting involved with MHHS, and not sure where to start? Questions about an open position or how to submit an application? At our Info Session, you'll meet our team and learn about ways to help.

What happens at an Info Session?

You will:

  • Learn about the MHHS mission, core values, and programs and services
  • Review the qualifications and responsibilities of our open paid and volunteer opportunities
  • Share you best questions and comments with our staff
  • Take a tour of the shelter and see some of the animals and people that we serve.

How can I sign up to attend?

Info sessions are open to drop-ins, but advance registration is strongly preferred. Registration links are generated approximately two weeks in advance of each event date, and made available on the MHHS website until the day of the event.

What will I need?

You will need:

  • Photo ID (required for all visitors)
  • A parent or guardian if you're under the age of 18
  • Sturdy walking shoes

What else should I know about visiting MHHS?

Info sessions take place in a variety of locations at the Lisa Mitzen Animal Care Center at 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY, 12204.

While visiting, you may be exposed to:

  • Live animals
  • Animal waste and/or dander
  • Cleaning solutions
  • Peanut products
