Twix
Last April I was in PetSmart in Glenmont buying food for out cat, Tigger. They had widened the aisle so that the adoption center was more visible than it had been in the past. I looked up and saw this little tiger cat looking back at me and putting his paw against the glass. I had to see him. The center was closed, but I walked over to check him out. His name was Tigs and he was a year and a half old. I sadly said goodbye and went home, but I couldn't stop thinking about him.
I called the Humane Society the next day to find out more information. He had been there for over a month and was surrendered by someone who had too many animals. I called my vet to see if he thought our existing fur baby could handle a new addition and convinced my husband that we needed to go get him.
It took forever to get the little guy in a carrier; he was cowering in the corner of the cage and frightened. The woman there even tried to show me some of the more friendly cats available. But I was convinced that this scared little Tigs was going to be mine.
We renamed him Twix because we already had a Tigger. He hid under a bed for over a month. It has been almost a year now and he is still afraid of company, but he sleeps with us every night and is my lap cat when I watch TV. He is crazy and playful and a talker. I've never heard a cat with as much to say as my little Twixy cat. I'm so happy he found me!
