Kiara
I took Phoebe home with me November 1, 2011. I changed her name the minute I brought her through the door, to Kiara. It's the name of the princess in the second Lion King movie. That's exactly what she is, a princess.
When I adopted her, the people were very honest with me and told me that she had been adopted and returned several times. Although I can't imagine why, I'm grateful that she was, because I've never had a better friend in my life. At the time of her adoption I was 19 and foolish, and on my own. She was roughly 3 years old when she came home with me, and we had a lot of bad habits to break, but she's worked with me every step of the way.
Kiara is a big goofball and loves to jump and play. She doesn't realize she's so big, but she's always in the right spot when I need her. She's put herself between me and danger on multiple occasions.
I wish more people would take the time to love the animals that come from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. They'd be pleasantly surprised.I know I was.
