Moustapha
We adopted Moustapha (previously Patches) way back in November of 1999. She was approximately nine months old and had been surrendered to the Humane Society by a family with five children who said they could not afford to keep her.
When I saw her, she was curled up in a ball shaking in the back of her kennel. She looked depressed and helpless lying alone. We asked to walk her and took her on the nature trail. I noticed she had bright pink magic marker all over her face from her prior family's children, I assumed.
Bringing Patches back to her cage was the hardest thing I ever had to do. She seemed once again rejected. I placed my application immediately for this beautiful girl. I wished I could explain to her that her loneliness was only temporary and that I was going to bring her home to nine acres, her own home and family to love.
After we were accepted, Patches was spayed and came home two days before Thanksgiving. She spent her holiday in the arms of a forever family who consider her very special. Now, at almost 12, she continues to be a vibrant, loving girl, who loves all other animals and people. Thank you for giving us a wonderful dog.
