Wonder
A cat named Wonder was featured in an article in the December 2009 edition of your newsletter. We were asked to adopt this cat and keep her for a short time for a friend, until she could get things in order to take her in. I was out of town when my wife brought her in, and when I got home I walked into the room she was staying in to see her. As soon as she looked up at me, my heart went out to her. We took to each other and my wife also fit, so we quickly decided that we would call her Gracie and she would stay with us.
Being blind, she is absolutely amazing the way she plays with toys and tosses them around and catches them. She jumps up on our bed and sleeps with us at night, and also sleeps there during the day when we are at work. She has favorite spots on couches and chairs she jumps up on to sleep. She's very happy with us and we are happy and love her. She's always rubbing against our legs as we sit or stand, and makes her little chirping noise. She crawls into closets to "look around" and always finds her way out. She runs through the house and amazes us on how she knows where to turn through doorways. One time I was holding her and we were looking outside through a screen door and there was a bug flying around outside of it. Gracie followed that bug just as if she had eyes!
We have three other special-needs cats and Gracie fits in well with them; at times they even play together, batting or touching each other with their paws. It's just amazing how well God takes care of his little creatures. She's our Amazing Gracie.
