Jethro

Dear Mohawk Hudson Humane Society,

On July 26, 2009 we went to your Feline Fest, interested in adopting a new kitten to keep us and our other cat (Squeak) company in our new house. My fiance and I were not sure which to select because they were all so cute and friendly. Upon looking at one kitten, out from the bars of an adjoining cage reached a polydactyl paw! This paw took a gentle hold on my fiance's forearm. As Mark pulled away to show me the kitten he was originally looking at, I turned my attention to the cat from which the other paw was attached. His name was Cappy, two years old with short/smooth hair. Needless to say, probably not the kind of cat we were there to look at. A kind volunteer behind us asked if we wanted to take him out. Reluctantly, we said okay. Well, out came Cappy and into the cage we went for some love. Cappy WOULD NOT STOP seeking out my hands for petting and attention. The fur went flying! After some confusion as to the sex of Cappy, we finally concluded he was a neutered male. Well, that was it. He was ours and we named him Jethro. Squeak, being a more independent cat with some anger issues, has even grown to tolerate Jethro! We catch them playing quite often. THANK YOU SO MUCH for allowing us the opportunity to adopt Cappy/Jethro.

PS: Jethro still craves our attention. :)
