On-Site Education Programs

Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is proud to offer a variety of on-site educational programs for people of all ages. We will work to create an experience that fits your group's needs. Each program includes a lesson, a game and/or craft and a tour of the facility. Programs range between ninety minutes and two hours long. The maximum group size is 20. Prices for programs begin at $15 per child.

Available Programs

  • Learning to Speak Dog

Participants will learn how to read dog body language, understand when it is appropriate to greet a dog and how to do so.

  • Learning to Speak Cat

Participants will learn how to read cat body language, understand when it is appropriate to greet a cat and how to do so.

  • Dog Care 101

Participants will learn about the Five Freedoms and understand the basics of humane dog care.

  • Cat Care 101

Participants will learn about the Five Freedoms and understand the basics of humane cat care.

  • Shelter Careers

Participants will learn about the history of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society as well as the many different career paths available to someone who has a passion for animal welfare.

  • Pet Care Badge

Participants will learn how to properly take care of pets and fulfill the requirements of a Girl Scout Pet Care badge.

  • Animal Helpers Badge

Participants will learn about the many ways pets can benefit people and fulfill the requirements of a Girl Scout Animal Helpers badge.
