Moose

We adopted our dog Moose on October 21, 2010, the day after he was dropped off at the shelter. Since then, Moose has become an integral part of our family and a huge part of our lives. He loves to be outside having fun, and definitely enjoys skiing, snowshoeing and trips to the dog park to play with his friends. We're all looking forward to warmer weather when we can go hiking and running together.

Although he certainly has plenty of energy, Moose also loves cuddling under the covers with us at night or sleeping in his doggy bed right next to ours. He is also very happy to hang out in his crate with a rawhide or his peanut-butter stuffed Kong while we're away. Moose gets along great with our two cats and is learning how to behave around horses. Since we've adopted him he's also learned sit, sit pretty, down, roll over, stay, leave it, go to your bed, shake, high five, crawl, and come -- not bad for four months! We've been working very hard at not pulling on the leash, and he gets better at this every day. Moose came to us fully housetrained and has great table manners thanks to his previous owners. He usually lies under the table chewing a rawhide while we eat and has never stolen food off the counter. He knows which toys are his and doesn't chew on anything else.

We truly cannot say enough about this wonderful dog and feel so lucky to have him in our life. We hope his previous family reads this and knows that he is safe and happy in his forever home. Thank you, MHHS, for everything you do!
