Roxy

My fiancé and I adopted Sugah about three months ago. We were looking for a companion for Chip, our two-year-old boxer/lab mix who was three pounds when we got him and is now pushing 80 pounds. Chip has so much energy and needed a playmate to keep him occupied when we go out hiking. Sugah was very timid at our initial meeting, but there was a little tail-wagging and we knew we had made a match. We brought Sugah home that day, and what a fun car ride home that was! When we got home, Sugah was timid, scared of everything. She would cower at the noise a grocery bag makes when you ball it up, or if you moved in too quickly to pet her. If I scolded her for peeing on the floor she would run and hide under the dresser or in the closet. She would cower down if you tried to pet her while she was eating. The first thing we decided was a new life meant a new name, so we changed her name to Roxy to help her start over (got that tip from the dog whisperer). Now, Roxy is happy with her big brother Chip. Chip gets annoyed at her because she nips at his heels, pulls on his face, steals his sleeping spot on the couch and all the other stuff little sisters do to big brothers, but he wouldn't know what to do without her. If you ask Chip, "Where's Roxy?" he will search the whole house until he finds her. The pair of them are inseparable; they love to go hiking and running together, especially to the family farm and running through the big mud puddles over and over again. She loves to chew on all my socks, sleep at the foot of the bed and stick her head out the window on car rides. (I get quite an audience driving down the road with a dog head out every window of my car.) Roxy has come a long way since we got her and has made a wonderful addition to our family. Even though it's crazy at our house sometimes, we wouldn't trade it for the world. Our doggies put a smile on our face every day. Thank you!
