Riley

Dear MHHS,

I was adopted on December 27, 2011 as Emmanuel from the PetSmart adoption center in Latham. At the time I was not at my best. I was feeling a little lonely because my sister, Mistletoe, had just been adopted the day before, and I was coming down with an upper respiratory infection, but all that quickly turned around. My new mom calls me Riley and that is the life I'm living! My new mom has spoiled me rotten. I have tons of new toys. The laser pointer and speedy mouse are my two of my favorites, but truth be told, I love all my toys. Mom makes time to play with me every day, especially before she goes to work, and I enjoy curling up in her lap when I'm all played out.

I was here about two weeks when mom adopted another cat, Simone, to keep me company. I was dismayed at first to find my mom in bed with another cat but, after I got over the initial shock, I gave Simone a chance and we became fast friends. We now chase each other around the apartment, watch the birds and squirrels together from our heated window seat, and curl up together on the top of the cat tower to sleep in the sun, though its a bit of a tight squeeze now that we've both grown.

Thank you so much for taking care of me and helping me to find my forever home. I am truly living the life of Riley!
