Prince

I just wanted to let you know that we're so thrilled that Prince (named Jack when we adopted him) has joined our happy family! My daughter and I went to the shelter one day "just to browse." I knew she wanted an orange kitten for Christmas, but I didn't think we would find what we were looking for. Well, just before we were about to leave, a lady brought in two carriers of cats/kittens she had been fostering. Then I heard my daughter scream, "Mommy, look at the orange kitten! Can I see him?"

We both fell in love with him at first sight. What really made me realize how much she wanted him was when she said as we were leaving, "Mommy, you can take back all my toys you got me for Christmas and get that kitten for me instead." That touched my heart. Determined to get the kitten for her, I called my sister in hopes that she would put him on her credit card since I had already spent $300 on toys. She agreed, and the next day I left work on break and went to the shelter to get the kitten. I got him and hid him at my brother and his wife's house for a week. On Christmas morning, I can't explain how happy my daughter was when she woke up! She loves Prince to death!

We just got his rabies and distemper shots, and the vet said he's in great health. At three months old, he already weighs 6.8 pounds! We just wanted to let you know that Prince is in a loving home and we hope his sister, Elizabeth, and his mother also found a loving home!

I have attached a few pictures of my daughter, Prince and I together. We couldn't be happier with our choice. When we adopted him, it said that he would need some work to warm up after he was abandoned. Prince is now extremely affectionate, loves to sleep with us, and even climbs my daughter's bunk bed! Despite all his kitty toys and scratching post and bed, he loves my leather couch the most to relax on! He's just the sweetest little affectionate and happy kitten there is!

Thank you, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society!
