Oliver

Attached you will find photos of the newest family member in our home. His name is Oli and he was at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. I was considering a feline friend for a while and visited the web site once a week. I noticed "Oreo" on the site. At the time of his drop-off he was already 5 months old. I couldn't get him out of my head so I went and visited him yesterday. As I was searching for him in the cages and reading the information on the crates, I was bending down when these two little paws reached out and grabbed my hand and a nose was smooshed into the hole of the crate. It was Oreo! We fell in love in seconds. To my surprise, he resembled Savage (who passed away two years ago) in so many ways.

I brought Oreo home and as soon as the carrier was open, he felt at home. No running away or hiding -- he rubbed up against the family as if he knew this is where he belonged. It's been less than 24 hours and he is already part of the family. He hasn't left my side and plays so nicely with my daughter Abigail. You should see the smile on her face. They have both been so gentle with one another. They can't get enough of each other. The name Oreo didn't fit him well and was a little hard for Abigail to pronounce, so we went with "Oliver" or Oli for short. So please welcome Oli to our family.
