Nia
My cat, Tootsie, of 20 long and wonderful years passed away on October 19, 2006. We didn't plan on getting another cat. No one could replace Tootsie. I had her since I was about five years old!
When my husband and I talked about the possibility of getting another cat in mid November, I said that I would like to get the cat from the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. I know there is an abundance of cats at the shelter looking for good homes. I also said that I had always wanted a Siamese cat. And, we really wanted a loving, calm, older, fat cat. Obviously, we had a lot of requests! One night, while browsing Petfinder.com, I was extremely surprised to find exactly the cat I was looking for. She was gigantic, a senior cat and a Siamese mix. To top it all off, she was in your shelter! No one believed that I had found everything I was looking for in one amazing cat.
When we met her, her name was Phatty Patty and we instantly knew she was perfect for us. Her name is Nia now and she was named by students in my sixth-grade class. Her favorite place is the laundry room where she buries herself in the folded clothes. She hates the leopard-print bed we bought for her and would rather knock towels over to sleep in them. Nia enjoys cat toys, food, treats, and being pampered in any way. She loves everyone and never stops purring. She is the female and Siamese version of Garfield.
Nia is exactly what we were looking for. Most importantly, she is exactly what we needed. She did not replace Tootsie but she has filled a hole in our hearts and the emptiness in our home. We simply adore her.
THANK YOU!
