Max

We recently adopted a five-month-old pit bull puppy named Steller. I had been looking for a pit bull for a while and really grew to love the breed. I really wish that they didn't have such a bad reputation because they can be such sweet and loyal dogs.

The story about how I got Steller, now known as Maximo (Max for short), began when I was going to pick up my boyfriend from the bus station. He was coming to visit and I had planned to go look at dogs at a shelter with him since we have been wanting to get a puppy that was both of ours. I still had some time before my boyfriend came so my mom and I went to look, not expecting to adopt. It just so happened that while I had seen Max at the shelter, my boyfriend had previously seen him on the website and liked him. We had no idea at the time we both saw him and liked him. I figured Max was destined to be ours. After I went to see Max, I let my boyfriend know all about him and when we picked him up, I took him to see Max. We both loved him instantly.

Max is extremely energetic and full of life. He attracts so much attention and everyone thinks he looks like Petey from the Little Rascals. He is so goofy and so much fun to be around. He's so smart, sometimes too smart for his own good. Although he wasn't experienced with cats before, he is now great with our 17-year-old cat, Tabby. He also has a new best friend, my 10-year-old yellow lab, Cassie. They play on the floor for hours and suprisingly seems to be keeping Cassie young.

Max is slowly calming down and is learning obedience and many new tricks. He is now six months old and more spoiled than ever. He went all the way to Brooklyn to visit my boyfriend and was very good the whole way! He adapted well to everything and I look forward to every day being a new adventure with him. My boyfriend and I will be moving in together soon and then Max will be spoiled by both of us. My entire family loves him! Thank you so much! He is my little shadow and makes us all so happy!
