Macy

I was up late one night reading your happy tails and I thought I would share a story of my own.

My husband and I finally agreed that it was time that "I" adopt a dog. You notice I said "I." He wasn't too keen on the idea because he never really got over the loss of his childhood pet. It took some convincing, but I finally won.

I happened to be looking on the MHHS website one day. I noticed this skinny-looking long-haired black dog that somewhat resembled my husband's lost pet. I called the shelter immediately and learned she was still there. That afternoon I dragged my husband down to the shelter to meet his new girlfriend. Macy, as she is called now, did all of the work for me. We took her outside to one of the greeting pens and she ran like a wild maniac for about 5 minutes. When she decided to stop running, she ran to my husband, turned and sat down very nicely between his legs and put her head on his leg. Well, that day, Macy went home.

Macy is a border collie mix which makes her a very smart and active creature, but she is also the most gentle and loving animal you will ever meet. She is always there to greet me when I come home from work and the best walking partner you could ever have. I don't know what I would do without her and, against his better judgment, my husband doesn't either. She is our BABY.

The pictures I have included are Macy by herself and with our deaf cat Abbey, a rescue from another shelter. She and Macy love each other to death and spend a lot of their time hanging out. Two abandoned souls who will be together til the end.

Thanks for all your help. Keep doing what you are doing!
