Lark

Hello!

My husband and I adopted Edlin (now Lark) the first week of the new year. When we first went to the shelter we were looking for a black and white female lab mutt. I saw Lark (a brown and white male pit bull mix), went directly to his cage and could not leave him! His big eyes and cry made me melt. We left empty handed, with the mindset that we still wanted a girl. That night I couldn't get his face out of my head and the next day we went back to get him. The same week we brought him home we moved into our new house together and we all couldn't be any happier; he is the perfect fit. The second we opened the door to the new house, Lark was the first one in and must have ran around the house 10 times in the first minute of being there.

When we adopted our boy he had mange. It got worse before it got better, but we visited our vet a couple of weeks ago and Lark should be fully recovered soon - just a few patches left to be filled in! Lark loves playing with other dogs, peanut butter, trying to get into our trash can (which now has a doggy lock on it), his reflection, cuddling, helping me paint (as shown in the photo), going for runs, but he cannot STAND the snow! His favorite place is to be nice and warm right by our sides...at all times, and that is perfectly okay with us. The volunteer who helped us that day said it perfectly: "You don't pick them, they pick you."

Thank you so much,

Sarah, Gary and Lark
