Hazelnut
In July of this year I lost my 13-year-old tortie girl, which was really hard for me. A month later, my heart still hurt over the loss of my girl but, knowing how many great cats need homes, I decided I was ready to adopt. Plus, my two male cats really needed another female to keep them in line!
I saw Hazelnut's picture on the website and was stunned by how beautiful she is. I wanted another tortie, so my boyfriend and I went down to the shelter that day to meet her, hoping her personality was as amazing as her looks. We clicked immediately and we brought her home. She settled in quickly but my boys were not happy at all. But all their hissing and growling did not intimidate Hazelnut. It took some time but they are living in harmony now.
Hazelnut loves, loves, loves to play and will sometimes drive the boys nuts with her antics (they are older and not as interested in playing all day like she is). She is also a great cuddler and loves to crowd my boyfriend out of bed every night! We kept the name Hazelnut because we felt it fit her perfectly, but we usually call her Nutterbutter, among many other silly nicknames! She is such a great little girl and we're so happy she's ours!
