Ernie
I saw this adorable mixed-breed dog on your website and his ears really got my attention. He reminded me of my cattle dog, with whom I shared 15 years until he died a few years ago. I just had to meet this little guy the shelter called Jameson! Only seven months old and full of energy, I knew this dog deserved a chance at a great life. He will have that now, but I must say his first family took wonderful care of him. We call him Ernie and already he knows his name after only nine days in our house. Not only that, but he is completely housetrained, sleeps in his crate with the door open, and doesn't chew anything but his toys -- which he completely destroys, but hey, isn't that what chew toys are for?
His first trip to doggie training is when I found out just how incredibly smart Ernie is -- like cattle dog smart! It took him less than 45 minutes to learn a few simple commands and there is so much more I want to teach him. I hope someday to be able to bring him to work with me -- especially in the warm months when I work outside.
Ernie makes me smile. He makes me want to hang around with him as much as possible. His two older pack-mates are Buford the Bloodhound and Roger the Greyhound. They have accepted Ernie as one of the gang and even play with him in the yard. Buford steals his toys though. Oh well.
To the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society, I say thank you for taking this little dog in and taking care of him until he found his forever home. I am so glad it is my home he will share. I love this sweet puppy!
