Dipsy Doodle
My daughter and I were caring for a puppy for six weeks and when he went back to his owner, we decided we wanted to adopt a dog to join our family. We looked for around two months, sometimes taking multiple trips in a week to the shelter and browsing the internet adoption sites, but just not finding a dog that was within our size restrictions of where we live and being right for us. Then we met Dipsy Doodle. She was a fit for us while we were at the shelter. Mind you, my daughter is only 2 1/2 so we had to find a dog that would be good for her as well. Dipsy was a stray Shih Tzu with some skin issues. She did not show any basic command knowledge but did show signs of being house broken. We brought her home with us and she is a GREAT dog.
The first night it was just Dipsy and me, so it was rather easy. The next day when my daughter came home, Dipsy loved my daughter right up and showered her with kisses. "She's a licker!" was my daughter's response. They snuggle and play and Dipsy never puts her mouth on my daughter except to kiss her. She has learned sit and lay down and dance and we are working on more commands.
We are very lucky and happy to have found Dipsy Doodle, and thankful to the shelter staff for putting up with our regular visits.
