Dallas
After losing my Bichon to heart disease very early in his life, I had a hard time thinking I could get another dog and be OK with it. Once I reached that point, I decided to adopt. After reading reviews and doing research, my first stop in my quest for a four-legged companion was MHHS.
Walking in I was a little nervous and the dog room was very loud. But there he was -- very quiet, laying down, and observing. Dallas was exactly what I was looking for.
Once I got him home, I realized just how great a fit he is. We are a lot alike: we like to sleep for most of the day, we are messy eaters, we are both rock stars and really big cuddlers. Dallas is a 70-pound pit/lab mix who thinks he is a 20-pound lap dog. There will be three people squeezing onto my loveseat and he thinks, "Just enough room for me!" and will lay across everyone. Personal space isn't a concept that he has grasped, nor do I think he will ever grasp. He is quite a ladies man because he will kiss and kiss and kiss you until his tongue is bone dry. Dallas is great with every age. He helps me babysit my eight-month-old nephew and hangs out with my parents.
I am so happy to have Dallas in my life and I am pretty sure he feels the same way!
