Bear

When I was at the shelter, my name was Bandit. Now my name is Bear, like Teddy Bear. I just wanted to drop everyone at the shelter a little note to say THANK YOU. I am so happy to have finally found my family and am so happy in my new home. I have a sister named Angie. She is an Afghan/Bearded Collie mix, and she and I are best buddies. Attached is a picture of the two of us that Mom took one Saturday morning when all of us were in bed. Angie and I climbed into bed with Mom because we were so scared of the loud thunder. Mom says she does not mind it. Most weekend mornings the three of us lie in bed watching TV, and just love being together and cuddling. The other picture that I had Mom send was one were I am in the living room in my chair. I love my chair because it is big and comfy and I can greet everyone that comes in the door.

I have a really big yard where Angie and I play together all the time. Mom also takes me for long walks around the neighborhood, where I have so many friends and we also go to something called the dog park. I like to call it PARTY TIME. There are lots of dogs there that I play with and lots of people I like to visit with and who give me treats.

Mom has taken me to get a haircut a couple of times now. and now I have what Mom calls my "summer look." I really like it because I am much cooler and still really handsome!

So, all in all, I am doing really great! Thank you again to everyone at the shelter for taking care of me. And I want to tell anyone else that is thinking about helping a dog in the shelter to please give us a try. There are plenty of other dogs there that are just as great as me. Like me, it may take us a little while to get adjusted to our new family, but once we do, we will be the best friend that you could have. I try to tell Mom every day how thankful I am that she gave me a chance. She tells me every night before I go to sleep that she is so happy that I am in her life and thanks me for being her friend. Life is good!
