Bailey

Hi!

My boyfriend and I adopted Bailey (previously named Daisy) on November 16, 2011 when she was 6 months old. We wanted to share our success story in case someone happens to read this who is skeptical about adopting.

Bailey had a great time adjusting to her new life in a forever home. When we first met her, she was shy and skittish (which we later found could be attributed to the fact that she had been spayed earlier that day). We were not even completely sure that we wanted to adopt a pup, but after looking into her adorable, different-colored eyes, we knew we had no choice. The reason for her surrender was unknown, but since she was so young, I thought that if she had been abused we would be able to reverse any negative affects.

After only a few days, we realized our new pup was incredibly friendly and full of energy. She absolutely loves meeting new people, and she's great with kids. Everyone loves her, too. She's the most popular pup I know! Bailey was the star of our puppy class, though she's really only in it for the treats. She loves anything and everything active. I don't think she'll ever run out of energy, but she's also the best cuddle buddy I could ask for! She has the strength of a dog three times her size (she is 21 pounds) and can chew through anything. She adores her cousin/roommate, Charlie, who is patient enough to put up with her puppy energy.

Bailey just turned one this past Tuesday and was treated with a very fulfilling trip to PetSmart where she picked out a new stuffed animal toy, which I'm sure will be destroyed by the end of the week. Though I'm definitely loving that her energy and chewing are decreasing as she matures, I can't wait for another bunch of years with her.

I am so glad that we made the decision to adopt her. I can't imagine my life without her!
