The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is committed to long-term solutions to the problem of pet overpopulation -- which is why every dog, cat and rabbit adopted from the Society since 2006 has been spayed or neutered before going home. That's thousands of animals being spayed or neutered every year.
We also recognize many people want to avoid unwanted litters of puppies and kittens but can't afford to have the surgery performed. The Society offers subsidized spay/neuter surgery for people with limited income for a reduced fee.
Appointments must be made in advance.
Rabies and distemper vaccinations are available at the time of surgery. Services available for an additional fee include feline leukemia testing, heartworm testing and microchipping.
Special pricing may be available depending on the pet owner's income and availability of funds to subsidize discounts.
An application and proof of income must be submitted before an appointment will be scheduled. You can download an application for services here. Once the application has been submitted and approved, we will contact you to schedule an appointment.
